Mother and Daughter Shoot

A friend of mine asked me to do portraits of her and her daughter, because although she is a very good photographer herself, she said the whole tripod and timer thing gets old at times. I was flattered that she allowed me to capture the love, and closeness, between a mother and her only child.

Thank you to Vanessa for the opportunity.

A tribute to what it means to be a United States Marine

Megan H's Senior Portraits

I've known Megan's mom for over 30 years. Yes, I know that makes us old, but it is what it is. But I had the opportunity to take her daughter's Senior Photos and was glad I did. A charming young lady that is not high maintenance, a down to earth, sweetheart of a girl. We had fun with lots of input from her mom and her Aunt... oh, and her little sister.

I love the shot below. I was talking to Mom and Aunt and Megan was not looking at me... just playing with her hair. I saw the chance to get a great candid, and just as I was focusing, she looks up... but it is still a priceless shot.

I guess there always is Time for Dancing

My friend, Mandy, owner of Always Time for Dancing, called me up and asked if I would like to shoot their Summer Showcase. Well, I shot the Spring Showcase and had a ball, and actually sold quite a few photos so of course I was interested in doing it again. This time I was in for a real treat.

There were some very young dancers, and they were a joy to watch. They moved so well and did such a great job. I had a lot of fun shooting them.

Instagram is so cool!

The photo quality is amazing with today's camera phones. And with the Instagram Ap, and all of it's filters and effects... who needs to carry a big, clunky camera around all day? Here are a couple of shots that I took recently with my trusty iPhone!

Cool, huh?

A horse is a horse, of course of course....

OK, I am not going to lie. I was never TRULY an animal person, much less a horse person... but when you marry in to a horse family, you WILL be exposed to them. One thing I came to realize, looking at them all afternoon through the viewfinder of my camera... they are beautiful, graceful animals.

I spent the afternoon shooting pictures of the Pennsylvania Draft Horse and Mule Association Field Day, in beautiful Landis Valley, Lancaster County PA. Where else would these gentle giants look so at home?

Meeting Joey

I had the pleasure of meeting this handsome young man during a photo shoot celebrating him being 7 months old. He wasn't much of a grinner at first, he was unsure of all the lights, and toys, and blocks... but his engaging smile made an appearance after a while. He had the honor of being the first youngster to pose with my new "extra large" baby blocks.... those compliments of my father and his wood working skills.

It was a fun shoot. I hope to have the chance to watch this cutie grow through more photos, months and years down the road.
